While Spain is the most mountainous country in Western Europe after Switzerland, Alicante itself is one of the most mountainous provinces in Spain.
It turns out that this is great for climbers, as the limestone mountains that run inland from the coast provide challenging crags.
The sheer quantity and variety of climbing, not to mention the good weather, makes this a wonderful place to climb particularly during those wet and miserable winters back home.
