Activities: Music and Culture
A walking tour around Denia will take you back to ancient times and cultures. Iberian, Carthaginian, Roman, Arab and Christian architecture are symbols of the various civilisations which have peopled this privileged corner of the world. One of the most emblematic sites of historic Denia is the magnificent 11th Century Castle which presides over the town.
Denia's calendar of cultural events and festivities is one of the richest in Spain. Both visitors and locals enjoy the Carnival in February, the Fallas in March, Easter in March/April, Fogueres de Sant Joan (Saint John's beach bonfires) in June, our Patron's festivity in July, the famous Moors and Christians festival in August… and more… Catching an event or two should be part of everyone's visit to Denia.
