There is a wide choice of places to eat in the area, ranging from Tapas bars and rustic rural hideaways to five star restaurants. Fresh sea food is a speciality of the area with fish served staight off the fishing fleet that operate out of Denia harbour. Lobster, sea bass, prawns, razor clams and many other dishes are available from the restaurants along the coast.

There are also vegetarian restaurants and a number of Indian, Thai and Chinese restaurants in the area. In Orba at the Orba Pizzaria the kids can play in the park next door whilst you relax with a bottle of vino. Order one of their famous 'Chocolote Pizzas' and the kids will talk about it for the rest of your holiday.

Most restaurants offer a ‘Menu del Dia', a fixed price menu of the day offering excellent value for money. You can enjoy a 3 course meal, including a glass of wine per person and bread and alioli (a local garlic mayonnaise) for around 8 euros a head. Or take friends and family to share in a traditional Spanish paella, made with saffron and garlic rice and a medley of seafoods, vegetables and meats. There are many places we can recommend and will be pleased to pass on some of our favourites to you!

Buying your own food is like a trip to a sweet shop, with an abundance of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and fish on offer and all considerably cheaper than in the UK. Eating out by means of a bar-b-que or a ‘plancha' on the beach is a great pleasure.

Wine too is cheap here, along with all your favourite spirits! And there are many who believe that Spanish brandy has long since surpassed it's French counterpart!

In short, for those of you who love your food and wine, you'll find everything you could wish for. We've added some links to our personal favourite restaurants below.
